The Ohio National Guard, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Health and Crawford County, will host GuardCare Weekend on August 9th and 10th at the Trillium Event Center in Bucyrus. The event aims to provide a range of no-cost health services to residents across the state.

Available services include behavioral health care, dental exams, vision checks and prescriptions, blood lab work, immunizations for all ages, mammograms, physicals—including those required for sports participation—and screenings for blood lead levels. Attendees can also access bicycle helmets, car seats with safety checks, financial coaching, and more.

A resource fair will run alongside these services. Residents will have opportunities to connect with local healthcare providers and learn about programs such as addiction care resources, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD), Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Job & Family Services, Medicaid options, and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Ohio.

Senator Bill Reineke (R-Tiffin) commended the joint effort: “I am very proud to see state and local governments coming together to support the health of Ohioans,” said Senator Reineke. “A healthy population is paramount to the prosperity of our State.”
