CITY OF FINDLAY: Scharp Sworn in as Police Officer

City of Findlay issued the following announcement on Nov. 9.

The Findlay Police Department has announced the hiring of a new police officer. Joshua Scharp was sworn in by Mayor Christina Muryn on November 9, 2020.

Scharp, 29, is a graduate of Findlay High School and served in the United States Marine Corp. After his Marine service, Scharp successfully completed the Police Academy at Owens Community College. Prior to joining the Findlay Police Department, Scharp was an auxiliary officer with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and was also employed in the Human Resources department at Marathon Petroleum Corporation. Scharp will join the department's patrol division after completing his field training program.
