University of Findlay Athletics recently issued the following announcement.
The University of Findlay softball team swept Glennville State University on March 13 at Anderson Field. The Oilers won the first game by a score of 16-0 and then came back with a 13-5 victory in game two to push their record to 12-6 on the year.
In game one, Avery Shepherd went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a run batted in to lead the way while Kyla Snow went 2-for-2 with four runs batted in and three runs scored. Snow also blasted a three-run homer in the first to kick off the scoring for Findlay.
Caroline Turner, Brooke Radermacher, and Lexie Hilling each drove in two runs while senior Megan Demler picked up the win on the mound by allowing only three hits to go along with seven strikeouts.
In game two, Shepherd again went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a run batted in while Hilling went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in.
Turner had a big game, finishing 2-for-3 with five runs batted in while Alissa Davis went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and two runs scored.
Shepherd, Demler, Hilling, Turner, and Davis all hit home runs in the win as well.
Hilling picked up the win on the mound, allowing four earned runs on seven hits in 4.0 innings of work.
The Oilers will be back in action again on March 19 when they host Ferris State University in a twin bill beginning at 1pm.
