Tiffin University to Host 134th Annual Commencement Ceremony

Tiffin University (TU) will host the 134th commencement ceremony on Saturday, April 30 in the Heminger Center. This year’s keynote speaker will be James Morgan, retired Chairman and CEO of several internationally recognized corporations such as Interstate/Johnson Lane, Inc., Wachovia Securities and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. Mr. Morgan will receive the honor of being conferred the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters. The event will begin promptly at 2 p.m. and guests must be seated by 1:45 p.m. Tickets are not required.

Ph.D. Graduates

TU’s first Ph.D. students will graduate at the ceremony. The doctorate program in Global Leadership and Change started at TU in the fall of 2019. Congratulations are extended to David W. Farler, Jenipher Coppin, Kimberly Short and Kathryn A. Vogel.

About the Commencement Keynote Speaker

James H. Morgan is a 1969 graduate of Vanderbilt University and has more than 50 years of business experience. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1972 and concluded his naval career having earned the rank of lieutenant. Morgan is also a former member of the Security Industry Association Board of Directors and the New York Stock Exchange Regional Firms Committee. Morgan currently sits on the Board of Directors for Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated and was previously on the Board of Directors for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He is the current Chairman of Covenant Capital, the general partner of a hedge fund headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mr. Morgan also maintains a lifelong commitment to youth education through extensive philanthropy work.
