The University of Findlay volleyball team welcomed Walsh University to campus for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) today Tuesday, Sep. 20. The Oilers won 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 24-26, 25-20). They move to 7-7 on the year and 4-0 in the G-MAC. They have now won five straight games. Walsh then falls 4-6 and 1-5 in the G-MAC.
As a team, Findlay hit .279, picking up 61 kills and making 20 errors. On the other side, Walsh hit .284 in the match and recorded 55 kills with 15 errors.
The Oilers were once again led by sophomore Journey Blevins who recorded a team-high 22 kills and hit .294. The standout, who has won back-to-back G-MAC Athlete of the Weeks, scored 22.5 points tonight. Blevins also recorded one block and six digs during the match.
Assisting Blevins were senior Norah Painter who chipped in eleven kills and hit .25. Freshman Alana Pohlman and senior Natalie Maras both recorded 8 kills.
Freshman Emma White recorded 44 assists.
Defensively, sophomore Ava Doster contributed 15 digs and Emma Meyer recorded two blocks.
The Oilers will be back in action Friday, Sept. 23 as they take on the Trevecca Nazarene in Croy Physical Education Center at 7pm.
