Men's Golf sits 11th of 14 after first round of Berry (Ga.) Invitational

The Ohio Northern men's golf team carded a solid opening round 315 to tie for 11th place out of 14 teams at the Berry (Ga.) Chik-Fil-A Invitational on Monday at the Stonebridge Golf Club.

Senior Josh Steyer (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) led the Polar Bears (13-15 overall) in the first round with a 78 to tie for 38th place out of 92 golfers.

Sophomore Adam Trigg-Holdman (Cincinnati/Roger Bacon) and freshmen Bennet Christy (Plymouth, Ind.) and Anthony Naso (Grosse Ile, Mich.) are tied for 47th with opening round 79s on the 6724-yard, par-72 course.

Emory (Ga.) leads the team standings with a 292, Centre (Ky.) is second at 293 and Birmingham Southern (Ala.) is third at 300.

Prayaag Oruganti of Emory (Ga.) leads the individual standings with a 70.

The final round will be held on Tuesday.
