TU Community Invited to Academic Experience with Olympians

Tiffin University alumni and friends, as well as professors and students from other universities are encouraged to join current TU community members and participate in the upcoming Academic Experience with Olympians program, to be held in Paris from July 23 to August 7, 2024. Roughly 16 students and two academic fellows will be selected with preference given to current students, faculty and staff from TU.

The program allows participants to conduct academic research, meet, collaborate with and learn from Olympic athletes, coaches and administrators as well as engage in humanitarian work for underprivileged youth in or near their host city. Students are also enrolled in a three-credit hybrid course on the organization of and theories surrounding the Olympic Games.

The deadline to apply is November 27, 2022. A $500 deposit, which is refundable if the applicant is not selected or decides to cancel before signing the participation contract, must be included with the application.

“The fact that the Academic Experience with Olympians program has been in place for almost two decades is almost beyond belief,” said Dr. Bonnie Tiell, Professor of Sports Management and coordinator of the 2024 program. “The experience has opened so many doors for participating TU affiliates and many others across the globe. I am pleased we are able to extend the opportunity in Paris to alumni and friends involved with our institution.”
