Heidelberg falls at Adrian

The Heidelberg University baseball saw their three game winning streak snapped following a 12-4 loss at Adrian on Wednesday. HU falls to 7-7 on the year while Adrian improves to 6-7.

Adrian opened things up in the second inning, scoring ten runs, on five hits, to put the Bulldogs out to an early 10-0 lead.

Heidelberg got a run back in the third inning off an Aidan Corrigan sacrifice fly, allowing Braedy Limke to score. The fifth inning saw Corrigan single in Andrew Pokley, and senior Adam McVicker triple to left field to cut the deficit to 11-3.

The Bulldogs were able to add an insurance run in the home half of the sixth off a Jack Boike double to left field, aiding the 12-4 victory.

McVicker tallied a career-high four hits in the loss with Corrigan adding two of his own.

Heidelberg will be back in action on Saturday as they host Capital University in a doubleheader. The first pitch of game one is set for 1 p.m. Game two will follow.
