Today, Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH5) stood alongside thousands of pro-life supporters at the 2024 March for Life on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Latta also co-hosted a pro-life reception for Ohioans with members of the Ohio Congressional delegation.

In a statement, Latta expressed his support for the March for Life and emphasized the importance of protecting the sanctity of life. He said, "At a time when family values are marginalized and the sanctity of life is disregarded by some, it’s tremendous to see thousands of Ohioans and Americans across the country continue to come together to participate in the March for Life. I strongly believe every human life is precious and we must work to build a culture of life in our communities. I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to support meaningful, commonsense pro-life legislation as we continue the fight to protect and support moms, babies, and the unborn."

Latta has been actively involved in promoting pro-life legislation during his time in Congress. He has introduced several bills aimed at protecting the rights of the unborn and supporting mothers. One such bill is the Support and Value Expectant (SAVE) Moms and Babies Act, which aims to prevent labeling changes for already approved abortion drugs and restrict the remote dispensing of these drugs. Latta believes that these measures are necessary to protect women and reduce the risks associated with chemical abortion procedures.

Another important piece of legislation supported by Latta is the Protecting the Dignity of the Unborn Children Act. This bill seeks to make it a federal crime to dispose of aborted baby body parts in landfills or navigable waters.

Latta's efforts have not gone unnoticed. The U.S. House of Representatives has approved several pro-life measures backed by Latta. One such measure is the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would require healthcare practitioners to provide the same level of care to a child born alive following an abortion as they would to any other child born at the same gestational age. Another measure, the Condemning the Recent Attacks on Pro-Life Facilities resolution, condemns violence against pro-life facilities in the aftermath of the Dobbs decision.

During the 118th Congress, Latta also cosponsored several pro-life bills, including the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, the Pharmacist Conscience Protection Act, and the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act. These bills aim to prevent taxpayer dollars from funding abortion coverage, protect the conscience rights of healthcare providers, and prohibit federal family planning grants from going to entities that perform abortions.

As Congressman Bob Latta continues to advocate for pro-life legislation, he remains committed to his belief in the sanctity of life and the importance of protecting and supporting mothers, babies, and the unborn.
