State Senator Bill Reineke (R-Tiffin) has announced that several community colleges and career technical centers in the 26th Senate District have been awarded Super RAPIDS grant funding. The grant, totaling $40 million, was given to 81 higher education institutions across Ohio to upgrade lab and classroom spaces with modern equipment. This initiative aims to support workforce needs and provide students with the necessary skills for growing fields.

"I was proud to support funding for the Super RAPIDS initiative in the state budget this year," stated Senator Reineke. "The funds going to our local higher education institutions will directly benefit students and area businesses in need of skilled workers."

The following institutions serving residents of the 26th Senate District have received grant dollars: Terra State Community College, Marion Technical College, Pioneer Career and Technology Center, North Central State College, and Tolles Career and Technical Center. These funds will be used to strengthen education and training programs, enhancing regional workforce development goals.

Super RAPIDS collaborates with local businesses to ensure that the awards address specific workforce needs in each community. This funding is a one-time boost to the traditional RAPIDS program at the Ohio Department of Higher Education, which has previously provided grants to qualifying higher education institutions for similar purposes. The allocation of these dollars for the grant program was included in House Bill 33, the state's main operating budget.

The Super RAPIDS initiative serves as a significant investment in the future of Ohio's workforce. By providing modern equipment and improved facilities, these colleges and career centers will be better equipped to prepare students for the demands of the job market. This funding will not only benefit the students but also support the growth and development of local businesses in need of skilled workers.

Senator Reineke's announcement highlights the importance of investing in higher education and workforce development. By providing the necessary resources, Ohio is taking a proactive approach to ensure that its residents have access to quality education and training opportunities. The Super RAPIDS grant funding will have a lasting impact on the 26th Senate District and contribute to the overall economic growth of the state.
