COLUMBUS – State Rep. Jon Cross (R-Findlay) has approved an increase of over $3.9 million in funds to the State Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) during a State Controlling Board meeting, boosting the current appropriation to more than $7.4 million. The funds are designated for disaster recovery efforts in the Indian Lake Region following severe weather on March 14, 2024.
"We must continue to support Indian Lake and the surrounding communities as they rebuild after the devastating storms that took place last month," emphasized Cross. "I am pleased to announce the approval of funding that will directly support recovery efforts we are continuing to implement."
The approved funds will be utilized for debris removal, safety and security operations, and the restoration of municipal electric systems and buildings in the affected area. The State Disaster Relief Program, overseen by the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Emergency Management Agency, operates as a reimbursement program to aid local governments in covering costs related to debris removal, emergency protective measures, and permanent work.
In addition to the allocated funding, Cross is collaborating with fellow Ohio House members to address future housing needs and explore avenues to assist small businesses impacted by the storms.
