COLUMBUS - State Rep. Anita Somani (D-Dublin) today announced the Controlling Board’s approval of several funding requests from the Ohio Secretary of State’s office to support election-related activities ahead of the November 2024 general election.
“Your vote is your voice, so it’s important to be informed and engaged. You can check voter registration status on the Ohio Secretary of State’s website,” said Rep. Somani.
The funding will be utilized by local county boards of elections to purchase additional electronic poll books, cover costs for printing and mailing absentee ballots, and produce several public service announcements (PSAs). These PSAs aim to encourage Ohioans to register to vote and remind them to vote on or before Nov. 5.
In addition to funding for new poll books, the Controlling Board also approved funds for election-related PSAs and for the printing and mailing of vote-by-mail ballots. The Secretary of State’s office estimates that up to 8 million vote-by-mail ballot applications will be printed, addressed, and delivered for the Nov. 5 election.
