State Senator Bill Reineke (R-Tiffin) announced the investment of $32,770,478 to support various projects aimed at benefiting local communities and residents. These funds were included in House Bill 2, the Capital Budget bill, which passed out of the Senate today.

"The Capital Budget Process allows us to invest in our communities and other critical needs throughout the state, and Senate District 26 will reap many benefits as a result of the funding secured," Reineke said. "I strongly advocated for each project because I believe they were all exceptional. The projects funded will make a positive impact on our families, businesses, and neighborhoods."

The legislature typically approves a Capital Budget every two years to fund improvements to public services and facilities across Ohio, including schools, infrastructure, and mental health and addiction facilities. House Bill 2 allocates $600 million for new construction and facility upgrades at Ohio's public schools and $575 million for local infrastructure projects such as roads and water and sewer systems.

Additionally, the One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund (OTSCIF) set aside $700 million as another source of funding. This initiative allowed communities and organizations to apply for assistance with projects that might not have qualified under the state's traditional Capital Budget.
