Congressman Bob Latta and ClearPath CEO Jeremy Harrell have co-authored an op-ed in the Washington Examiner, emphasizing the significance of investing in domestic nuclear energy production.
"The United States is at the crossroads of its energy future. Homeowners and business owners are struggling to keep up with increased energy bills, and power companies are trying to provide enough baseload energy to heat, cool, and light homes while fueling the rise of artificial intelligence and data centers," they wrote.
They argue that to meet the growing energy demands of Americans, the U.S. must invest in reliable, affordable, and clean energy sources. "There’s no question that to meet Americans’ growing energy demands, the U.S. must invest in reliable, affordable, and clean energy. The solution lies with an all-of-the-above strategy that includes all forms of energy generation, including fossil fuels, renewables, and most importantly, nuclear power."
Latta and Harrell also highlighted America's need to lead globally in nuclear energy development. "As leaders working toward energy solutions, we strongly believe that America must lead the world in nuclear energy development. We refuse to sit back and cede energy leadership to other nations," they stated.
The op-ed calls for continued collaboration between government officials and industry leaders to invest in nuclear technology as a means of establishing U.S. dominance in the global energy sector.
