A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Wyandot County in Ohio on October 7, 2024. The request was made by Findlay Times, a media organization committed to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
In the request, we sought records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., specifically asking for a list of FOIA logs sent to the county from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The fields requested included the requester's name and organization, content of the request, date of the request and its completion date, as well as the status of the FOIA.
As a media organization, Findlay Times is deeply involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
