State Representative Riordan McClain has announced that four projects in Ohio's 87th House District have been awarded grant funding to address substance misuse. The grants, provided by the OneOhio Recovery Foundation, aim to support prevention, treatment, and recovery initiatives.
The Marion-Crawford Prevention Programs received $174,661 for "A Community’s Response to Preventing Substance Abuse" and an additional $330,000 for "Building Better Communities." The Wyandot Memorial Coalition was granted $99,170 for the "Healing Opioid Patients Through Empowerment (HOPE) Project." Additionally, the Morrow County Court of Common Pleas secured $200,302.66 for its "Morrow County Probation Services Transportation Initiative."
McClain emphasized the importance of having multiple organizations involved in aiding those struggling with addiction. He stated, “It is important that we have multiple organizations ready to help those who need support treating and recovering from their addiction.” He further highlighted the significance of state and local partnerships in expanding assistance across Ohio: “Through continued partnerships between the state and local level, we will be able to help more Ohioans.”
