CITY OF FINDLAY: Incorrect Employer Withholding Remittance Booklets Sent

Taxes

City of Findlay issued the following announcement on Dec. 29.

Due to a data-processing error, many area employers received incorrect 2021 Findlay employer withholding remittance booklets. An employer that historically remits on a monthly basis may have received a quarterly booklet and an employer that historically remits on a quarterly basis may have received a monthly booklet.

New Findlay booklets will be issued in the next several days. The Findlay Income Tax Department encourages employers to destroy the erroneous Findlay booklets even before the replacements arrive. Arlington, Mount Cory, Vanlue, Carey, and Mount Blanchard booklets were not impacted by the error. Municipal income tax employer withholding remittance frequencies are prescribed in section 718.03(B) of the Ohio Revised Code. Employers that withhold more than $2,399 per year for a municipality are required to remit on a monthly basis.

For questions or assistance, taxpayers can call 419-424-7133 or visit the Income Tax Department in room 115 on the first floor of the Findlay Municipal Building. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. The office will be closed January 1, 2021, January 18, 2021, and February 15, 2021.
