Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH5) has expressed his support for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and his legislation, the Nuclear Fuel Security Act. Latta believes that strengthening national security involves supporting the U.S. Armed Forces and promoting domestic energy production.

Latta stated, "With the inclusion of my Nuclear Fuel Security Act in this year's NDAA, our nation is one step closer to expanding safe, clean, and renewable nuclear power, which will help secure U.S. energy independence and reinforce our national security." He emphasized the importance of not relying on hostile foreign countries for power supply.

In addition to the Nuclear Fuel Security Act, Latta also highlighted other provisions in the FY '24 NDAA. These include a historic increase of 5.2% in servicemember pay, full funding for law enforcement operations at the southern border, investments to deter the Chinese Communist Party, support for allies like Israel, a path back to service for individuals discharged for not taking the COVID-19 vaccine, and a focus on military lethality rather than 'woke' ideology forced upon servicemembers.

Latta believes that providing for the safety and security of the American people is the primary responsibility of Congress and the federal government. Despite the increased threats from foreign adversaries like China, Russia, and Iran, he is confident that this year's NDAA will provide the necessary support for the Armed Forces to defend the nation and protect its people.

The FY '24 NDAA sets priorities and policies for the U.S. Armed Services. Some of the key provisions include the increase in servicemember pay, support for law enforcement operations at the southern border, savings of $37 billion in taxpayer dollars without sacrificing national security, increased funding for technologies to deter the Chinese Communist Party, funding for military information operations assistance in the Indo-Pacific region to counter Chinese influence, and rejecting the Biden administration's efforts to reduce the size of the Navy.

The U.S. House Armed Services Committee has provided a full summary of the FY '24 NDAA for further information.

Overall, Congressman Bob Latta's support for the Nuclear Fuel Security Act and the FY 2024 NDAA demonstrates his commitment to strengthening national security, promoting energy independence, and supporting the U.S. Armed Forces.
