COLUMBUS - State Rep. Anita Somani M.D. (D-Dublin) today criticized the passage of the veto override for House Bill (HB) 68, which includes anti-trans legislation, and Governor DeWine’s proposed restrictions on gender-affirming care.

“I am angry that there are legislators who do not trust science and the hundreds of experts who have testified on gender-affirming care. The government has no place in making these decisions and must stay out of the exam room,” said Rep. Somani.

HB 68 was passed in both the Ohio House and Senate but was vetoed by Governor DeWine at the end of December 2023. Despite this, Governor DeWine issued an executive order on January 5, 2024, that further limits access to care.
